Privacy Policy

Your documents belong to you. This policy explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and how advertising and analytics work on MyPocketPDF.

No Server Uploads*

Most tools process files locally in your browser. Your PDF contents are not stored in a MyPocketPDF file database.

Minimal Data

Free PDF tools need no account. Workspace accounts collect only what we need to run billing and your workspace.

No Document Selling

We do not sell the contents of your files. Advertisers do not receive your PDFs.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to MyPocketPDF (“we,” “us,” or “our”), based in India, including:

  • The website mypocketpdf.com and related pages (free PDF tools, blog, and trust pages)
  • The Workspace product at app.mypocketpdf.com (accounts, clients, projects, quotes, invoices, documents, and billing)
  • Our mobile applications

2. How we process your files

Client-side by design

Wherever technically practical, PDF tools run in your browser (or on your device in the app). That means the document you select is processed locally, and we do not maintain a library of user-uploaded PDFs.

What this means in practice:

  • Local processing: Many conversions and edits happen on your device using browser technologies such as JavaScript and WebAssembly.
  • No long-term file archive: We do not operate a user document storage product. Closing the tab clears in-memory processing for browser tools.
  • Exceptions: A small number of features may require temporary server-side processing (for example, certain advanced conversions). When that happens, files are processed only to complete your request and are not kept as a personal file repository. We do not use your document contents to train marketing profiles.

*“No server uploads” describes our primary client-side architecture. Always check the tool page if a feature notes a temporary server step.

3. Information we collect

Free PDF tools on mypocketpdf.com do not require an account. Collection there is limited:

  • Usage analytics: We use aggregated analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand which pages and tools are used, approximate geography, device/browser type, and referral sources. This helps us fix bugs and prioritize features.
  • Log and security data: Standard web server logs may include IP address, timestamps, requested URLs, and error diagnostics — used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
  • Local preferences: We may store settings in your browser (LocalStorage or similar), such as language or UI preferences. This data stays on your device unless you clear site data.
  • Communications: If you email us or use the contact form, we receive the information you choose to send (name, email, message) so we can reply.
  • Advertising technology: If ads are shown on the free tools site, advertising partners may collect data as described in Section 5 and our Cookie Policy.

We do not require you to create an account to merge, convert, compress, or edit PDFs with our standard tools on mypocketpdf.com.

3.1 Workspace (app.mypocketpdf.com)

If you use Workspace, you create an account (for example via Google sign-in). We then process additional information needed to run your workspace, including:

  • Account data: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and workspace membership/role
  • Workspace content you enter: clients, projects, quotes, invoices, expenses, tasks, time entries, documents, and related business records you choose to store in Workspace
  • Billing data: plan, subscription status, and payment-related identifiers. Card payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Paddle processes payments under its own privacy policy
  • Session and security data: cookies or similar tokens to keep you signed in and protect the account

4. How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service (including Workspace)
  • Provide accounts, workspaces, collaboration, and paid plan entitlements
  • Process subscriptions and invoices through Paddle where you purchase a plan
  • Measure performance and understand feature demand
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and technical issues
  • Respond to your support or privacy requests
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Support free access to PDF tools through advertising (where enabled on mypocketpdf.com)

5. Advertising and third parties

MyPocketPDF may display advertisements (including Google AdSense or similar networks) on mypocketpdf.com to keep free PDF tools free. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure performance, and — depending on your region and consent settings — personalize ads.

  • We do not sell your PDF files to advertisers.
  • Third parties do not receive the contents of documents you process in our tools as part of ad targeting.
  • Google and other partners may process data under their own privacy policies. For Google, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We and our partners use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for essential site functions, analytics, and advertising. See the full breakdown in the Cookie Policy.

7. Data retention

  • Processed files (free PDF tools): Not retained as a personal document library on MyPocketPDF.
  • Workspace content: Retained while your account/workspace exists, or until you delete it, subject to backups and legal holds.
  • Billing records: Retained as needed for accounting, tax, chargebacks, and legal obligations (also held by Paddle for payments they process).
  • Analytics & logs: Kept for a limited period needed for analysis, security, and operations (typically up to 14–26 months for analytics tools, unless configured shorter).
  • Support emails: Retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for legitimate business records.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to respond. You can also:

  • Clear cookies and site data in your browser settings
  • Use browser controls or industry opt-outs for interest-based advertising where available
  • Disable non-essential cookies where a consent mechanism is presented
  • For Workspace: delete workspace content you control, or request account deletion by emailing support

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International users

We operate from India. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be processed in India or in locations where our service providers (such as analytics or hosting providers) operate. By using the Service, you understand that processing may occur outside your home country, subject to applicable law.

11. Security

We use HTTPS and industry-standard practices to protect the Service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Because many tools run locally, keeping your device and browser updated is an important part of protecting your documents.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
