The PDF is already on the phone
Most Android PDF searches start in a chat, not in an app store. Someone forwarded a lease, a school form, or six bank PDFs. The preview that Android opens will show the pages. It will not merge them, shrink them for WhatsApp, or put a signature on the line.
MyPocketPDF is that next step. Share the attachment into the app, or open it from Files. The app registers as a PDF viewer, so Android can offer it from the share sheet. The walkthrough is in how to edit a PDF on Android.
What you can do without leaving the phone
Page work is the core: merge, split, remove pages, rotate, crop, and reorder. Then the send step: compress until Gmail or WhatsApp accepts it, and sign before you protect the file. A password comes last. A locked PDF will not accept a new signature until you unlock it, and unlock only works when you already know the password.
Paper still shows up. Cam Scan turns a stack of pages into one PDF and can hand that file to a computer with a QR code. Photos already in the camera roll go through JPG to PDF, not the scanner.
Office files need a connection. Word to PDF, PDF to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are rendered online, then the result comes back to the phone. OCR is for a scan you need to copy text from. Read one sentence of the result before you trust it. A shadow across the page comes back as the wrong words.
Offline, online, and no account
After the app has loaded, a lot of page tools run on the device: merge, split, rotate, reorder, and many edits. Your file does not have to sit in an account.
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint conversion, and some advanced edits, upload the file over HTTPS so it can be rendered. That is not an offline feature, and it is not stored as your personal archive.
You do not create an account to start. Details of what stays on the device and what is processed to finish a conversion are in the privacy policy.
App or the website
Use the app when the PDF arrived on the phone and you want Open with. Use the website when you are at a computer, or when the phone cannot install apps — a work profile, a borrowed phone, a Chromebook. A 300-page scan or a form with dozens of fields is still kinder on a large screen. Start at the PDF editor there.
The tools below are the same jobs, on the web, if you want to try one before you install.
